Question: Agel EXO & O.R.A.C Scores

February 7, 2006
Question from Bill (edited): I have been investigating O.R.A.C. scores for the best products our world has to offer (most using liquid delivery method for their nutrition) for years. Most of those liquid products are $100 plus per month's supply, per person. How does Agel compare? How much is the cost per person for a month's supply (& is it any different for a child?)??
Bill,
I was introduced to ORAC scores (a measurement of the antioxidant level in foods) when I first joined Agel almost a year ago. I contacted the Agel corporate office and found out that the ORAC score for a single Agel packet is 850. A packet of Agel product is .75 oz or 21 grams. So per 100 grams the Agel product ORAC score is 4,048.
We have this and some other information posted at:
http://www.whyagel.com/foods-high-in-antioxidants.html
A box of 30 Agel packets sells for $75 retail or $60 wholesale for distributors and Preferred customers. So at the distributor pricing it comes out to about $2/day.

Children who eat normal amounts of fruits and vegetables daily would probably only need 1/2 a packet, but because they like it so much I can't get my boys to only eat 1/2.
The thing I like most about Agel is the convenient packets. I send one with my son to school and keep some in my car and at my desk. It's much easier to remember to take when it's always handy. No need for bottles or refrigerators.
One of our frequently asked questions is "Why doesn't the Agel EXO product have a higher ORAC score?"
Although it is pretty high at the 100 gram level it's not as high at the per packet or per serving level. The answer given by the doctors and chemists who formulated EXO is that most people get 50-66% of what their body needs each day just by eating the foods they normally eat (unless you're an extreme McDonalds fan - a la "Supersize Me").
EXO was designed as a supplement to the normal intake of antioxidants - not a replacement.
We can't and don't make any claims as to EXO being able to treat or cure any diseases, but I can say from my own personal experience that EXO has made a big difference in my health.
I have been taking EXO daily for about 10 months. I normally get 3 or 4 colds during the change of seasons (Fall-Winter, Winter-Spring). These colds last anywhere from 3-5 days. Over the past 10 months I have only been sick 2 days - really 1 and 1/2 days.
A pretty serious bug went through our house about two months ago. My wife was pregnant at the time and was not taking the EXO. She was sick for about 6 days. My one son who wasn't taking EXO was also sick for about 6 days. My two sons who were taking EXO were sick for only 2 days. And I was sick for just 1 day.
Obviously I don't believe EXO is a magic "cure-all" but I am now a firm believer in the preventative power of taking the appropriate amount of antioxidants daily.
